
July 15, 2025 - Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy Announces $877,490 in Grants to 19 Organizations
The following grants were recently awarded by Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy to effective education, health care and social service organizations that serve the economically poor with dignity and compassion, to extend the outreach of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in the service areas of Sisters of Mercy’s former North Carolina hospitals.
Ada Jenkins Center, Davidson, NC was awarded $47,000 to provide salary and benefits support for case managers.
All Souls Counseling Center, Asheville, NC was awarded $51,700 to provide general operating support, specifically, contractual therapist fees.
The Center for Community Transitions, Charlotte, NC was awarded $51,700 for the salary and benefits of a job developer.
Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Charlotte, NC was awarded $61,100 to provide general operating support.
Charlotte Community Health Clinic, Charlotte, NC was awarded $61,100 to assist with the salary and benefits of a nurse practitioner.
Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, Charlotte, NC was awarded $56,400 to provide operating support contributing primarily to the Community Language/Literacy Impact Program.
Community Action Opportunities, Asheville, NC was awarded $35,250 to support the Life Works program.
Council on Aging in Union County, Monroe, NC was awarded $47,000 to provide support for the salaries of in-home aides.
HEART Math Tutoring, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $47,000 to provide operating support contributing to programmatic salaries, benefits and supplies.
Hope Haven, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $47,940 for the salary and benefits of the children and families director.
Jewish Family Services of WNC, Asheville, NC was awarded 37,600 to provide operating support for the Healing Solutions clinical team and associated expenses.
Meals on Wheels, Asheville, NC was awarded $32,900 to provide operating support, specifically, the payroll and mileage expenses of delivery drivers.
Mental Health America of Central Carolinas, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $23,500 to contribute support for the salary and benefits of a mental health navigator.
OnTrack Financial Education & Counseling, Asheville, NC was awarded $51,700 to support the Housing & Financial Capabilities Program specifically targeting those with incomes below 80% AMI.
ourBRIDGE, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $28,200 to defray the costs of tutor salaries, transportation, and food costs.
Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, Charlotte, NC was awarded $37,600 for the salary and benefits of a client coordinator.
A Roof Above, Charlotte, NC was awarded $61,100 to provide general operating support.
Western North Carolina AIDS Project, Asheville, NC was awarded $51,700 to provide operating support including salaries and benefits for three medical case managers and one community health worker.
York County First Steps, Rock Hill, SC was awarded $47,000 for the salary and benefits of a nurse home visitor and related operating expenses.
Since 1996, Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy has awarded 2,413 grants totaling more than $108,175,284 to organizations assisting unserved or underserved populations in the areas of education, health care and social services.
