December 15, 2023 - Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy Announces $967,000 in Grants to 20 Organizations

Care Ring, Charlotte, NC was awarded $60,000 to provide salary support for direct service staff in Care Ring's Low-Cost Clinic.

The Center for Community Transitions, Charlotte, NC was awarded $55,000 to contribute to the salary and benefits of a job developer.

Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Charlotte, NC was awarded $65,000t to provide general operating support.

Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, Charlotte, NC was awarded $60,000 to provide salary support for Speech Language Pathologists in CLIP (Community Language/Literacy Impact Program).

Children's Council of Watauga County, Boone, NC was awarded $50,000 to support the Parents as Teachers Program.

Communities in Schools of Cleveland County, Shelby, NC was awarded $36,000 to contribute to the salary and benefits of 1 FTE graduation coach.

Council for Children's Rights, Charlotte, NC was awarded $60,000 to contribute to the salaries of attorneys and a social worker in the Mental Health Program.

Freedom School Partners, Charlotte, NC was awarded $50,000 to provide operating support contributing to key personnel and programmatic needs.

Helping Hands Clinic of Caldwell County, Lenoir, NC was awarded $50,000 to provide operating support, specifically, contractual fees and salaries for medical providers.

Hope Haven, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $51,000 to support the salary and benefits of a Children and Families Coordinator.

Kids Advocacy Resource Effort, Waynesville, NC was awarded $30,000 to contribute to the salary and benefits of a Victim Advocate.

Literacy Connection, Hendersonville, NC was awarded $25,000 to support Adult Literacy Programing in Transylvania County.

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas, Inc., Charlotte, NC was awarded $25,000 to contribute salary support for a Navigation and Support Specialist.

Mountain Housing Opportunities, Inc., Asheville, NC was awarded $50,000 to support the Essential Home Repair Program, primarily construction materials and professional contractor fees.

Pisgah Legal Services, Asheville,  NC was awarded $75,000 to provide general operating support.

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, Charlotte, NC was awarded $40,000 to provide support for the salary of a program coordinator.

A Roof Above, Charlotte, NC was awarded $65,000 to provide salary support for Housing Navigation teams.

United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Inc., Asheville, NC was awarded $55,000 to support the Community Schools Initiative.

Western Youth Network, Boone, NC was awarded $35,000 to support salary, benefits and other operating expenses related to the Mentoring Program in Watauga County.

Wilkes Community Partnership for Children, North Wilkesboro, NC was awarded $30,000 to support the Wilkes County Kindergarten Readiness Initiative.
